You may already be familiar with Tokina SZX 400mm f/8, a super-telephoto reflex lens Tokina initially launched last year. The lens is now available in eight different mounts – but once again, not natively.
The Tokina SZX 400mm f/8 is similar to reflecting telescopes, featuring internal mirrors to effectively increase the focal length. This allows the lens to have the 400mm focal length, yet stay very small and lightweight. It’s 2.91 x 3.03″ (74 x 77 mm) in size and 12.52 oz (355 g), which makes it ideal for traveling if you want to pack light and still take some wildlife photos, for example.
As far as the specs go, they’re pretty much the same as the previously launched version of the lens. The only difference is that it doesn’t feature an M42 mount anymore, but it comes with a T-mount. You can adapt the lens to your DSLR or mirrorless camera, but once again, you’ll have to use an adapter that’s included with the lens when you buy it. You can choose between Nikon F, Nikon Z, Canon EF, Sony E, Fuji X, Pentax K, MFT, and, of course – the T-mount. Here are the full specs: The Tokina SZX 400mm f/8 is available for orders at the price of $224.
