If you like Cinematographs, you are going to love Plotagraph. In a nutshell, Plotagraph can convert any single JPEG into a cinematograph. This is great news to anyone who likes Cinematographs because creating those is a tedious and cumbersome process while (at least judging by the tutorial) Plotagraph is fast and very intuitive. Actually it requires no premiere/photoshop/after effect know how. It is all based on moving arrows around.
Here is how Plotograph pitches it:
And judging from Trey Ratcliff’s release video it is 100% on spot.
The interface is incredibly convenient: put a rough mask on things that you want stationary, place arrows where you want movement and hit go. Here is what it looks like (takes time to load):
All this good does come at a price. One year of Plotagraph pro will set you back $299 ($50 for pre-launch). This may not seem that expensive compared to licensing Adobe CC for a year.
Plotagraph is internet-based, so it will work with any OS (mac, windows, Linux* *yay). It support all the familiar formats: animated GIF at various FPS and looping videos. It does not state how far resolution goes, but from the video it seems that at least 1080 HD. Troy Plota, co-founder and CEO, told Digital Trends that: “the program has already been put to use for several large companies, including Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Airbnb”, so there is a good chance you’ve seen it live even without knowing it.
