Two images have leaked of an upcoming lens that appears to be from filter-maker NiSi. One image shows the lens mounted to what looks like the Sony A7R III, while the other has it sitting on a Fujifilm body of some kind, possibly the Fuji X-E3. Not much is shown about the new lens, except that it’s made by NiSi, has a maximum aperture of f/4, with a distance scale behind the focusing ring. It also appears to be a fixed focal length lens, as there are only two dials for the aperture & focus. No zoom.
As one of the images shows the lens on the Sony A7R IV, it also appears that the lens will have full-frame coverage. Although will be available for APS-C mounts, too, as illustrated the above photo mounted to the Fuji. Other than this, we don’t know what other mounts the lens might appear for, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw this offering for all of the major mirrorless mounts at this point – I mean, there’s only really five of them. Ok, six if you include MFT. Update: Yup, it’s coming for Nikon, too. NikonRumors posted a photo of it on the Z6.
Naturally, there’s no word on a price or release date yet. But we’ll keep you posted as we hear more! [via MirrorlessRumors / FujiRumors]
