A post shared by abdul dremali (@advil) In 2003, the red planet was closer to Earth than it had been in about 60,000 years. In 2018, Mars is once again so close to Earth, that it shines brightly in the sky and casts an orange light on the water surface as it rises. EarthSky writes that it’s not as bright as in 2003, but it’s nearly there. And it will be this bright until approximately 7 September. If you miss the opportunity to photograph Mars while it’s so bright and red up in the sky, you won’t have the next chance until 2035. So, try and make the best out of this phenomenon while it lasts, you will have a few weeks to get some splendid shots like Abdul did.
