The job is on the pay scale and grade G 12. As the ad reads, the position is permanent and located in Washington DC. The photographer at this position will be expected to travel, but it will be 50% or less.
As a Homeland Security Photographer, you would be given certain responsibilities. The typical assignments on this position include documenting the activities of the Department of Homeland Security, its people, and its mission. The photographer is expected to use highly specialized gear and keep up to date with the latest trends in the field. He or she is also required to manage and care for the gear, supplies, and materials. Lastly, the photographer is also expected to communicate with people outside the organization and represent the organization to the external sources.
