Well, it took a while, but Hasselblad has finally announced the availability of their 907X 50C medium format camera. You know, the one they initially announced last June and did a special edition for that had no actual release date? Yeah, that one. Well, it’s finally here. The Hasselblad 907X 50C combines the CFV II 50C back with the 907X, Hasselblad’s smallest ever medium format camera body to create a pretty tiny package. The design allows for a more traditional waist-level medium format shooting experience, thanks to the tilting LCD and is compatible with X system lenses (but also H, V and XPan lenses through the use of adapters).
For the last year, the only way you’ve been able to get one was to get the moon landing special edition version at $7,499. Now that is not only not necessary, but it’s not even an option and is now discontinued. Now, though, you can buy the regular edition and save yourself $1,100. The 907X 50C is priced at just $6,399 – which is pretty reasonable when you consider flagship DSLRs are still more expensive than that.
The Hasselblad 907X 50C medium format mirrorless camera is available to pre-order now for $6,399 and shipping is expected to begin at the start of September. As far as accessories, there’s a 907X Control Grip for $729 and a 907X Optical Viewfinder for $499. These also start shipping next month.
