All the users of Fuji mirrorless cameras, you may soon get your hands on a new smart adapter. Fringer has developed world’s first Fujifilm X mount – Contax N electronic adapter. It will give you autofocus and electronic aperture control on a mirrorless camera while using an N mount lens.
The adapter is designed as a full electronic lens mount which enables you to use the N mount lens on a mirrorless Fujifilm camera. In the video below, you can a Fujiflm X-E2 camera with the Carl Zeiss Planar 50mm f/1.4. The smart adapter translates communication messages between the N mount and X mount. You can control the aperture both on the camera and on the lens, and the adapter also enables you to use autofocus.
For now, the adapter is still in the prototype stage and it’s unknown when it will be on the market. But when it does get launched, these are the lenses it will support:
