If there’s one thing you can say about DJI, it’s that they’re pretty much leading the way in every field they choose to enter. They control 70% of the drone market and their new Ronin-S gimbal has received much praise. Now they’re looking to build a new futuristic headquarters in Shenzhen, China. DJI has teamed up with leading architectural firm Foster + Partners to design the new HQ, which is comprised of a pair of towers, joined together by a giant sky bridge. As well as allowing transport between the two towers, the new bridge is designed to show off new drone technology. They’ll also hold formal product launches in a new DJI theatre.

Architects Journal recently posted a video showing some of the design concepts and interior of the new DJI HQ.

Our aim is to create a unique environment that embodies the spirit of invention and innovation that has allowed DJI to lead the world in robotics and technology. The ground floor of the facilities will also include a theatre for product launches, a new exhibition space, and state of the art gyms. Huge column-free quadruple height areas will be used for indoor drone flight testing. It’s a very ambitious looking building, and there doesn’t seem to be any word yet on exactly when construction will commence nor be completed. But I do like the idea of robot fighting rings. Maybe we’ll see DJI streaming their very own Robot Wars. [via CNBC / Architects Journal]
